HW series are horizontal, single stage, single suction, volute mixed-flow pumps. The pumps are designed to handle clear water or any other kinds of liquids with
similar physical and chemical properties to water, so they are widely used for agricultural irrigation and drainage, industrial or municipal water supply and drainage.
Widely applicable for the lines of urban discharge projects, light industry, paper making, textile, foodstuff, chemicals, electric power, petroleum, mines, agriculture and so on.

Design Characteristics
HW pumps are composed of pump casing, impeller, pump cover, shaft, shaft sleeve , and bearing case, etc.
The pump cover is a part which connects pump casing and inlet pipe. There should be a certain gap between pump cover and the impeller. lf the gap is too small, the friction action will occur, and a big gap will result in too much return flow of liquid from the high pressure area to the suction side of the impeller, which would decrease the efficiency of the pump. The gap can be adjusted by changing the thickness of paper gaskets, and its optimum suitable for service is 0.3-0.7 mm.
The shaft sealing package is made up of oil-filled asbestos packing, gland, seal cage,and stuffing box on the pump casing.
Driving Arrangement
• There are two types of drive assembly available one is pulley and belt device, the other is coupling.
• An electrical motor or a diesel engine is most commonly used to drive the pump.
Direction of Rotation
As viewed from the suction side of the pump, the rotation of the impeller is anti-clockwise. The pumps with 650 mm diameter are rotated clockwisely.
